Judith Schwaighofer
(second violin)
The Upper Austrian-born violinist received her initial musical training under Peter Gillmayr at the Music School of Bad Schallerbach. At the suggestion of her teacher, she gained early experience both as a chamber and orchestral musician. Following her first engagements with the Bad Schallerbach Spa Orchestra and the Hausruck Philharmonic, she subsequently performed with the Upper Austrian Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as with the orchestra of the Landestheater Linz. While still in secondary education, she commenced her violin studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg under the tutelage of Harald Herzl and Annelie Gahl. After completing her school- leaving exams, she expanded her musical education by studying instrumental and vocal pedagogy at the Orff Institute Salzburg, graduating with distinction in 2009. After completing her artistic training, Judith Schwaighofer established herself both as a soloist and as an orchestral musician. She performed with ensembles such as the Haydn Orchestra Eisenstadt, the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper. Due to her extensive experience in the interpretation of classical Viennese music, she was invitedĀ in 2026 by the Johann Strauss Society of Vienna to join the newly founded Hofballmusik Quartet, of which she has since been a member.
